Living and staying Mentally Fit in 21st Century can be really tasking, situations all around can cause great alarm and Scare to our Mental Health.

According to W.H.O "Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community."

Like health, you can't achieve 100% Mental Health, But you can stay at a Continuum.

We are going to be looking at 3 key points of the definition above.

1. Emotional well-being,

2. Psychological well-being and

3. Social well-being.

How to Stay Mentally Fit by Checking your Emotions

 A healthy diet and exercise are great for your body, but don't neglect your emotional health and well-being.

Reducing stress, getting enough sleep, and having fun are all ways to find happiness.

What is Emotional Health?

This is a Term which simply describes "how we feel" it could depict Anxiety, Worry, Sadness or dissatisfaction. When your emotional health is in a bad state, so is your level of self-esteem.

Emotional well-being includes happiness, interest in life, and satisfaction; Due to the challenges we face day in day out, our mind becomes stressed, thus affecting our activities, once this occur, take a moment and breathe deeply.

Funny Enough, we take care of our Physical health more than Our Emotional Health, Be Happy!! It goes a long way in achieving a Healthy Emotional Health.

According to Barry Jhon Jhonson of Bodymindgreen, he listed 10 signs of a Mentally healthy person using Mentally Healthy Happy Person Syndrome

1. Practises universal self acceptance, does not tie personal value to external factors including material objects, or the opinions of others.

 2. Demonstrates humility, shows gratitude, never being self important, judgmental or thinking less of others.

 3. Displays Self Identity, being the same person at work, home, play or generally within differing social groups (not chameleon-like).

 4. Has the ability to be alone, while not being anti-social; can enjoy quiet time without distraction or interaction with others. May be seen meditating.

How to stay mentally fit

5. Able to accept criticism, evaluate it and process it appropriately.

 6. Demonstrates emotional regulation skills, never denying or suppressing emotions, but mastering what is taking place within their own body and selecting the appropriate expression of those emotions, including basking in positive feelings.

7. Features a tolerance for uncertainty, setting intentions and goals but not trying to totally control all outcomes, situations or the opinions of others.

 8. Engages in proactive problem solving .

9. Cannot tell a lie.

10. Has a sense of humor about life and themselves; often seen laughing, dancing, playing.

Looking at the above Criteria, if u have a Score of 7 and above, then u are Emotionally Fit.
